Thanks for the link to the fund for Mr. Zameer. So disgusted by what he was put through, so it's nice to be able to contribute to lessening the financial burden, even just a little. Appreciate the great book recommendations too. Looking forward to Technofeudalism given the controversy you mention - capitalism by any other name...

Thanks for the nudge and the link to support Mr Zameer. I donated and shared…. And now on to the books. Roger’s vs Roger’s should be a movie for sure

Sorry, Kenney believes in things? Honestly believes?

I mean, did he really *believe* that there was a conspiracy of American oil companies and Green activists to landlock Alberta's oil? That conspiracy theory was propagated by his "war room" and I just assumed that nobody believes such a thing, just tries to get others to do so.

The cynics I can hate but understand; the True Believers have to be kept at pointed-stick distance. I think that Smith, like Trump sort of "believes" whatever is the best thing to believe at any given moment, and her mind isn't structured to have core beliefs that might require uncomfortable behaviour or decisions.

Kenney, I figured for a cynic, like G.Bush selling the Iraq War, but not believing his own snake oil.

Oh yes indeed. Jeremy's book offers great insight on that. Kenney is a true believer.

We don't have emojis here, but think of Laura Dern's jaw-drop when she sees the Brontosaur. Nope, not good enough. Shelley Duvall discovering Jack's "manuscript". Yeah. That news makes me feel like her.

You've got me wondering about a book about a failed politician that I hated. That's new.
