He oversold his "elbows up" to win the election to appeal to a reactionary hockey nation that was already too much of a 51st state to begin with. No doubt Mark and Dominic LeBlanc are technically competent and logical but they are dealing with a mad king. I still say thank goodness the reactionary Poilievre and his team of sloganeers are not in power as I watch Carney and see him taking us in a more Conservative direction- socialism for the rich and austerity for the rest. I wish we had a strong third party. I wish we were less reactionary and our thinking was less based on marketing slogans like elbows up to win elections.

Fair analysis, David.

But we haven’t “ditched” the DST. Enforcement was put (back) on hold, and Carney stated he’d bring forward legislation to kill it in the parliamentary session that begins tomorrow.

I’d bet that he won’t do so until & unless a suitable trade agreement is reached.

Two can play at breaking promises, but Carney is no TACO.

As for us Canadians losing patience, unfortunately that’s just life with Trump.

Let’s be thankful that we’re not in the position of the people of Ukraine, whose interminable (and probably fruitless) waiting for Trump to actually do anything about Putin is killing them daily.
