When I first read the related story in the Natl Post I thought it must be a joke. No way Trudeau’s Cabinet could be so tone deaf yet here we are.

It seems algorithms control and expand the narrative - like pushing a rock downhill to watch the turmoil. It seems to work as disturbance collects views. So, what's the point of all that? Noise - which garners attention. Politicians in 'opposition' need attention. Noise helps. At some point though, the circus of attention settles on substance - and then what? There has to be more than noise ...

Have already pointed out via Twitter X my complete dismay at seeing the self-own - ill considered ‘selfie - in English & French - to even defend the Photo is to further Embed the Public Perception & reach of the Inevitable Toxic Propaganda - What is ‘Done cannot be Undone’ - alas that horse has left the stable 🦎🏴‍☠️

The legitimate concern is whether the affected pol is getting so comfortable in their position that they've stopped thinking about the rest of us at all. Enjoyed John Oliver the other night, dunking on SCOTUS judges that have just lost any sense that they might look bad, that "the seat would have gone empty" is a defense, that nobody should even imagine them compromised.

I'm sorry to lose the policy positions on the left, that I like, but anybody getting comfortable in power has to be cleaned out; willing to pay a high price.

Politicians, have never had any problem feeding them selves at the public trough and have had absolutely no problem gaining publicity from doing so. Conservative politicians in particular are particularly adept at it.
